Sponsored Walk 2006

Our Annual Sponsored Walk was held on September 24th this year. sponsored walkThe day was sunny and warm, but not too hot for the dogs. We had a good turnout - about 18 dogs and forty odd people. The dogs were of all shapes and sizes, both sexes and ranging from a few months old to about 8 years old.

We walked around the perimeter of Greenwich Park, and Peter treated us to his guided tour of the places of interest - The Maritime Museum, the Greenwich Observatory, The Queen’s House and the spectacular view across the Thames.

The dogs all wore rosettes and created quite a lot of interest from the public. Many people walking in the park commented on how well behaved the dogs were.

It was great to see so many of the dogs we had rehomed over the last few years, and gave us a chance to catch up with the people who have given these dogs a second chance at a happy life. Every owner assured us that they had “the best dog in the world”, which is just as it should be!

sponsored walk
The walk lasted about an hour and back at the meeting point we tucked into sandwiches and crisps and a drink (for the dogs and the owners). As the photos show, the dogs were all well behaved, tired and happy, and so were the owners.

The final figure for the money raised was £3060.00 and well done to everyone who either sponsored us or joined us – it was a great day!
