Rupert has been rehomed! Plus an update on Doris

Rupert has found his new home! He has gone to live with Tony and Julia, who are very keen to work and train him. Rupert is settling in well, and has already started Obedience and Agility classes..exactly what he needs to keep his mind busy! Tony says he is the light of their lives.

Doris is a very sweet girl of almost 7. Unfortunately, Doris has some health problems. She has an untreated partial rupture of a cruciate ligament, and the start of arthritis in her elbows. The vet feels it would be very unwise to have the cruciate rupture repaired, given the condition of her front legs. She is now being given anti inflammatories to help her, plus the usual range of supplements.

Doris is rather overweight, and despite a strict diet, has not lost any weight. This week we had a blood test done to see if she has a thyroid problem. The "Normal" range is HIGH 51 to LOW 13. Doris is at 14.8, so her thyroid is working normally, albeit very slowly. At this stage she cannot have thyroid treatment, but the vet has suggested a further thyroid test in a couple of months, and continuing her diet.

Therefore, we are not looking for a home for Doris until we have further answers to her problems.
